Quangang 46,000t/a Tetrahydrofuran Project I. Description: it is planned to build the Project in Nanshan District of Quangang Petrochemical Industrial Park with a planning area of about 100 mu. It is planned to produce 46,000 t/a tetrahydrofuran with material of 60,000 t/a 1,4-butanediol as the Quangang Petrochemical Industrial Park planned with the processes of Reppe method, butadiene/acetic acid process and furfural method. II. Reasons and conditions: the tetrahydrofuran is widely applied for synthetic resin and natural resin processing and manufacturing of anticorrosive paint, printing ink, extraction agent, surface treating agent of artificial leather, etc. Besides, it can be used for producing PTMEG and COPE. The THF consumption in China during 2005-2009 was prosperous, in which, the PTMEG consumption took up about 85% of THF total consumption. It is estimated that the consumption in 2014 will be increased to 144,000 tons with an annual growth rate of 7.1%. III. Analysis of economic benefits: after completion, the annual output will be about RMB 1 billion and the annual profit will be RMB 30 million. IV.
