《筑梦可可西里》公示材料(3)

Wecame to pay respect to the Sonam Dargye.Sonam Dargye was a pioneer in the fightagainst illegal hunting. He set up West China Working Committee to fightheavily-armed illegal hunters. This brought rampant wild life hunting undercontrol. In 1994, Sonam Dargye was shot in a battle and sacrificed his life.Till the end of his life, he was still a determined fighter. Under hisleadership, Hoh Xil National Reserve was built. More people are following hislead to protect wife life.

I wasa soldier of an independent cavalry at Yushu Military Sub-district. I attendeda meeting about the heroic deeds of Sonam Dargye. It influenced me so deeplythat I decided to follow his lead and devote myself to Tibetan antelopeprotection. I respect Sonam Dargye very much.

Sunand Hoh Xil workers offered hada to Sonam Dargye Monument. They made a deep bowto the statue to show their highest respect to the hero.

Thetrip went on.Looking out of the window, Sun found it hard to stay calm.Thesepioneers struggled hard to protect this pure land with an indomitable spirit oreven at the cost of their life. Thus we can enjoy harmonybetween man andnature.

Aftera few more hours’ drive, Sun arrived at Sonam Dargye Natural ConservationStation. He took down what he had seen and heard on the computer.

Around12 at noon, we set off from Golmud.

After7 hours’ drive, we finally got to Sonam Dargye Protection Station. We firstwent through the Kunlun Mountains Pass. Too many trucks on the road causedcongestion. Despite that, we hurried on. By around 7:30 p.m., we finallyarrived at our destination.

SonamDargye Conservation Station is the first non-public station in China. Before itwas built, Hoh Xil workers had to live in simple tents. In 1996, Yang Xin soldhis books to raise money for the station construction. Later, with the helpfrom Zhiduo County West Working Committee, the station was finally built. It’sthe forefront of Hoh Xil in the fight against illegal hunting. It plays a vitalrole in protecting Tibetan antelopes. In recent years, with more support, SonamDargye station kept developing. It has now become a station with multiplefunctions involving animal protection, environmental protection publicity andreception. The former station, a red iron house has turned into an eternalmonument for people to remember those heroes who have shed blood for the land.

Earlynext morning, Sun met a man who came to seek help.

Whathappened? Altitude stress? The road was congested for a day. Where are yougoing? We came from Sichuan. According to my navigator, there’s a town only 30km away. That’s the nearest town. The onefurther is Golmud. You can only go to Golmud. How could you go that way? Shehas so serious altitude stress.

Amiddle-aged man broke in, very nervous. His friend had grave altitude stress. He asked if we had medicine. But medicine won’t work. We had an extra oxygenbag and so we gave it to him. She was too powerless to open her eyes. And shefelt dizzy.I asked her to press on the oxygen hoses. But she seemed too weak todo that.

Takecare!Thanks.

Manycan’t stand bad environment and often find themselves in risk. Staff here arestationed here throughout the year.Risks they have experienced are incrediblefor most people. First of all, we have to fight illegal hunters. They are allarmed. The second risk comes from the nature. On our way to patrol, we have tocope with blizzard and our vehicles are often trapped in snow. The third isfrom swamps, lakes and natural disasters. Saving wife life in Hoh Xil isanother important job of these workers.Hoh Xil has rugged environment. New-bornTibetan antelopes are fragile. To protect this species, these workers will lookfor and save Tibetan antelope babies every year.

A Luois one of them. Hello, A Luo. Hi, Mr. Sun. Glad to meet you. This is A Luo, a patrolinspector of Hoh Xil Administration. Young as he is, he is dad of many Tibetanantelope babies. Where do the babies live? They all live in the station. Theylive in a fixed place? Sun followed A Luo to the station for Tibetan antelopebabies. What’s the fenced shed for? It’s home to Tibetan antelope babies. Andinjured antelopes. Yes. These are quilts? We’ll pave quilts on the ground incold days. If not, antelopes may have the trots. So antelopes are well takencare of. I sleep in that room at night. Close to them, I can hear what’s goingon in the shed. You work in the shed in the day and sleep in that room atnight. In the day, we’ll let them out to graze. This is where they graze?Yes,they’re out in the day.
