新生湖位于索南达杰自然保护站北面，是北方的卓乃湖溃坝后新形成的，水位连年快速升高，湖面也一直在扩大，新生湖距离青藏公路、青藏铁路只有13公里，一旦淹没此条线路，后果将不堪设想，湖面与公路间只有一道低矮的山梁，能否抵挡也无从知晓，近年来，气候变暖，上游冰雪融水增多，最早的水位标尺已经被淹没，因此，工作人员更是加紧了水位的监测。

结束了监测工作，孙燕初回到了保护站内。

今天在索南达杰自然保护站，孙燕初亲身参与了工作人员的工作，收获良多，他要把这一切记录下来，为自己的文章留下素材。

第二天一早，孙燕初一行早早出发，今天，他们要从索南达杰自然保护站出发，去往条件最为艰苦的五道梁自然保护站，全程60多公里，在五道梁保护站记录孙燕初心心念念的藏羚羊迁徙。

四十分钟的行车，他们到达了五道梁自然保护站。

五道梁保护站和五道梁镇是分开的，距离有30多公里，如果将保护站建在镇上，各方面条件会好很多，之所以建站在此地，便是因为保护站对面就是藏羚羊迁徙毕竟的桥洞，迁徙季节，工作人员每天在此观测藏羚羊群的动向，保护羊群顺利通过青藏公路，不出危险，尽管条件艰苦，但他们无怨无悔。

每天护送羊群过马路之后，他们还要记录下迁徙的数量，以供对于藏羚羊群进行科学研究。

在保护站，孙燕初还遇到了前来进行科学采样的西北高原生物研究所的苏建平教授，孙燕初便跟随苏教授一起，来到保护站周围，进行藏羚羊粪便样本的采集。

没走多远，二人便找到了一处新鲜的粪便。

藏羚羊不同于其他青藏高原的古老物种，他们具有迁徙的习惯，藏羚羊为什么迁徙？这是一直以来没有破解的“自然密码”，而苏建平教授十几年前与藏羚羊结缘，开始研究他们的迁徙原因，每年亲自来可可西里采集藏羚羊粪便，这一干就是十几年。

陈旧的藏羚羊粪没有光泽，而新鲜的则是十分黑亮，硬度也不高。

而陈旧的粪便则硬的像石头。

采到了新鲜粪便，二人结束了采样的工作。

刚刚回到保护站，便得到消息，有藏羚羊群要过马路了。

藏羚羊群距离公路还有一段距离，而保护站的工作人员却已经早早就位。

藏羚羊群缓慢的向公路靠近着，工作人员已经把车横在了路中央开始拦停过往车辆，防止惊吓到藏羚羊，也为了不危害到藏羚羊的安全。

孙燕初躲到了路边，拿起了相机，也为了记录下这一人与自然和谐相处的奇景。

被拦下的车辆越来越多，而羊群却还迟迟没有靠近。

通过的时间未知，被拦截车辆的司机也纷纷下车等候。

藏羚羊群不断向公路边靠近，两边的车辆也越积越多，每个人都在既焦急又期待的等候着。

突然，头羊跳上公路，准备通过。

随着头羊的通过，藏羚羊纷纷通过公路，随着藏羚羊的通过，工作人员放行了两边的车辆，并对司机表示感谢。回到住地，孙燕初开始整理此行的收获。

HohXil National Reserve is located in northwest Qinghai. It has a total area of45,000 square kilometers.It’s one of the largest and highest reserves with therichest biodiversity in China. It’s home to wild life, especially Tibetanantelopes.  

SunYanchu is a magazine editor. This time he would go to Hoh Xil to find out whatchanges have taken place to the reserve. He would record the contribution ofthose working at Hoh Xil Conservation Station.

TodaySun and his team members would set off for Hoh Xil. He came to the fleet earlyin the morning to prepare the stuff.The first leg of their trip was KunlunMountains Pass. They would pay tribute to the hero Sonam Dargye. Then they wouldgo on to Sonam Dargye Protection Station. This trip was more than 270km long. Sun would take part in the workthere. After that, he would go to Wudaoliang Protection Station. He would seehow Tibetan antelopes migrate and record a real Hoh Xil.

Ready?Now, we’re leaving for the first protection station of Hoh Xil.

Witheverything ready, Sun set off. Today, they would drive to Sonam DargyeProtection Station,the earliest of the its kind in Hoh Xil. And it has the mostfunctions.

Aftera 2 hours’ drive, they arrived at Kunlun Sacred Spring.Here, they would collectsome water.

Thewater is very nice. We’ll bring it with us on the way to the mountain top.

KunlunSacred Spring is a cold spring at an altitude of 3,700m. The water is clean, clear and sweet. It won’tfreeze even in winter. For travelers, it’s a valuable source of water. It’sknown as “sacred water” and “sweet dew inthe icy mountain”.

Thisis water from Kunlun Sacred Spring from thousands of meters underground. It’ssaid to be very sweet. Let me try it first.

Afterthat, Sun and his party went on. After a few more hours’ drive, they got toKunlun Mountain Pass. Here they would pay respect to the Sonam Dargye Monument.
